How do you know you need a new roof? There are a few telltale signs that can make a big impact on both your safety and your wallet. Do you have…

  1. Roof leakage after a driving rain?
  2. Leakage in attic after ice build-up?
  3. Peeling or blistering of interior or exterior paint?
  4. Stains and/or mold on interior or exterior walls?
  5. Missing, cracked or curled shingles?
  6. Exterior decay of siding or stucco?
  7. Areas on the roof that look dirty?
  8. Excessive energy costs – heater or air conditioning running constantly?

When you need a new roof, you want to be sure you get the best product for the best price. A good roof can last more than 30 years, and it is an investment that will pay off in the long run.

There are three major categories of Roofing Shingle products available in the market:

Strip Shingles
Strip Shingles are the original and the most basic of roofing shingles. Strip Shingles are single layered and designed to look like slate. Strip Roofing Shingles have a very flat appearance on the roof line and are typically the lightest weight roofing shingles.

Dimensional Shingles
Dimensional Shingles are the predominant roofing shingles installed in the U.S. today. This shingleis dual layered and provides a thicker and richer appearance on the roof (a multi-dimensional look). Dimensional Roofing Shingles also are a heavier weight than Strip Roofing Shingles and usually have improved warranty protections, which can range from 30-years to Lifetime.

Premium Shingles
These shingles may have designs that mimic “old-world” roofing shingles, like natural slate or natural shake roofing shingles. Premium Roofing Shingles might also have important functional improvements such as Impact Resistance or Solar Reflectivity that can possibly extend the life of the roofing system or provide lower energy costs.
